Heat Pumps & Mini-Splits
One efficient system. Every room, every season.
Heat pumps are the single biggest comfort upgrade most Massachusetts homes can make — and right now, the state is paying you to install one. Air Man designs, installs, and services them across the Merrimack Valley.
Why heat pumps
The upgrade your home and your wallet both feel.
Heating + cooling in one
A single system replaces your AC and supplements or replaces your furnace — heat in winter, cool in summer.
Lower energy bills
Heat pumps move heat instead of burning fuel, running 2–4× more efficiently than oil, propane, or electric baseboard.
Room-by-room zoning
Set different temperatures in different rooms. No more freezing bedrooms or roasting upstairs.
Quiet & low-profile
Modern mini-splits run as quietly as a whisper, with sleek indoor heads or fully ducted options.
Cold-climate ready
Today’s units deliver reliable heat well below 0°F — engineered for real New England winters.
Big rebates
Mass Save pays $3,000–$16,000 toward a qualifying system, plus federal tax credits. We handle the paperwork.

How a heat pump works
It moves heat — it doesn't burn fuel to make it.
In winter, a heat pump pulls warmth from the outdoor air (yes, even cold air holds heat) and moves it inside. In summer, it runs in reverse, pulling heat out of your home to cool it. Because moving heat takes far less energy than creating it, you get the same comfort for a fraction of the energy.
Winter
Heat in → warm home
Summer
Heat out → cool home

Heat pump questions
The things homeowners ask us most.
Will a heat pump really keep my house warm in a Massachusetts winter?
Yes. We install cold-climate heat pumps rated to deliver efficient heat well below 0°F. We size every system specifically for your home and our New England design temperatures, so comfort never depends on the weather.
Can a heat pump replace my oil or gas furnace?
In many homes, yes — a properly sized cold-climate heat pump can be your primary heating system. In others, we set it up to handle most of the year and keep your existing furnace as backup for the coldest days. Your free assessment determines the right approach.
Mini-split or ducted — which is right for me?
Ductless mini-splits are ideal for homes without ductwork, additions, or specific problem rooms. Ducted systems suit homes with existing ducts that want a fully hidden look. We’ll recommend the best fit during your assessment.
How long does installation take?
Most residential mini-split installations are completed in one to two days, depending on the number of zones. We work cleanly and walk you through your new system before we leave.
